Privacy
The calculator works out your results in your browser. Nothing you enter is stored unless you join the email list; if you join from the calculator, your answers and results are saved with your email address. The site also uses Google Analytics to count visits.
What's stored when you join the list
- Your email address, and whether you've confirmed it or unsubscribed.
- If you join from the calculator, your answers and results at the time (for example your age, qualifying years and the estimated gain), so the course emails can fit your situation.
- Which steps of the free email course you mark as done, and when, so I can send you the next one (and a reminder if a step stalls). If you stop the course, the date you stopped.
- Your own short share code, used in the link the course gives you to pass on to friends, so I can see which introductions work. It's random, so it doesn't reveal your name or email.
- The page you signed up on, the country you signed up from (worked out from your connection), and the dates you joined and confirmed.
- If you arrived through a link a friend shared (one ending in something like
?ref=dave), that short code, so I can see which introductions work. Your browser keeps the code for up to 90 days so it's still there if you read a few pages before joining. Nothing about you is shared with the person whose link it was.
How it's used
To send you a confirmation email, the free 5-step course (one step at a time, with a reminder or two if a step stalls), and new articles. It's never sold or shared with anyone else.
Where it's kept
The list is stored with Cloudflare, which hosts this site. Emails are sent through Resend, an email delivery service.
Visitor statistics
This site uses Google Analytics to see how many people visit, which pages they read, roughly where they're from, and whether they use the calculator or join the list. It sets cookies in your browser to tell visits apart. It doesn't receive your calculator answers or your email address. Google processes this data under its partner sites policy. You can block it with a browser extension such as Google's opt-out add-on.
